Tampa's Only Poured Foundation Company
We use Byrd's Foundation System - a ten step process to provide great safety and security for you and your family. Ask about the CementSet.
1. Site is cleared and leveled. First the site is cleared and leveled. Precise measurements are then taken so the Footer System fits exactly the State-approved requirements and the house manufacturer's specifications.
2. Measurements are checked for accuarcy. The accuracy of all measurements marked out by string lines is then checked, using a laser transit.
3. Outer and inner trenches are dug. Using a small mechanical digger, the two outside trenches are dug 24" wide and 10" - 12" deep. The center trench is dug 60" - 84" wide and 9" deep.
4. Trenches are measured and squared. The sides of the trenches are measured and squared to ensure strong bonding of the concrete with the walls of the trench.
5. Outer trenches are filled with concrete. The first outside trench is then filled with concrete. A typical 28' x 60' home will be supported by three trenches which hold approximately 16 yeards (52,000 pounds) of cement.
6. Center trench is filled with concrete. Filling the center trench with concrete. To provide additional strength, only 'fiber concrete' is used.
7. Concrete is poured and leveled. Measurements are taken during the pouring operation to ensure that the concrete pads are level and at least 9" thick.
8. "J" -hooks are added to the center trench. "J"-hooks, conforming to the house manufacturer's specification, are placed in the center trench immediately after the concrete is leveled.
9. "J" -hooks are added to the outer trenches. The "J"-hooks are located in the outer trenches to precisely match the house tie-down straps. This precludes house movement during severe storms.
10. "J"-hooks are angled for diagonal tie-downs. "J"-hooks are precisely angled at the end of the trenches to comply with the requirements of the diagonal tie-downs.
